first_imgJust over a year ago, Prophets of Rage–a politically-charged supergroup comprised of Tom Morello, Tim Commerford, and Brad Wilk of Rage Against The Machine, Chuck D and DJ Lord of Public Enemy, and B-Real of Cypress Hill–burst into existence with an angry bang. The outfit, described by Morello in 2016 as “an elite task force of revolutionary musicians determined to confront this mountain of election year bullshit,” came together for a string of summer amphitheater shows following their widely buzzed-about maiden shows in LA and Brooklyn featuring a mix of material by RATM, Public Enemy, and Cypress Hill. The band also promised that they would be recording original music. The promise was fulfilled last month with the Michael Moore-directed “Unfuck the World,” the first single from the upcoming self-titled debut LP Prophets of Rage–due out September 15. Last week, the super group released the second single, “Living on the 110.” Today, the band has released the official music video for “Living on the 110,” which features some of the wealthiest and most impoverished places in Los Angeles and New York City. Watch it below:Additionally, the band announced four surprise shows at Boston’s Paradise Rock Club on 9/7, Asbury Park’s Stone Pony on 9/9, Philadelphia’s TLA on 9/10 , and New York City’s Apollo Theatre on 9/12. Prophets Of Rage will unleash their fury at special limited club gigs to mark the upcoming release of the debut album, out September 15.More information about their tour schedule can be found here.last_img read more

first_img Tom Hogan’s six-year-old landed the Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock last year and was last seen finishing fourth in the Hong Kong Mile back in December. Despite those recent Group One exploits, he was sent off an 18-1 shot under Craig Williams in the seven-and-a-half-furlong heat but he came with a powerful run after being settled in the early stages. He swept to the front inside the final half-furlong to edge out Speediness by a short neck with El Roca a further three-quarters of a length away in third. The run was a warm up for next month’s inaugural Championship meeting, with Hogan having the option of tackling either the Doncaster Mile or the six-furlong TJ Smith Stakes at Randwick on April 12. Hogan said: “It was great – a good achievement. It was a bit unusual using a Group One as a prep for another race, but it worked out and he won it well. “It give us options for next month and we will make a decision in the next few days about which race to go for. Craig said he could go for either. “It’s great to win though and to break new ground.” Gordon Lord Byron made a dream start to his Australian stint when winning the Group One George Ryder Stakes at Rosehill.center_img Press Associationlast_img read more

first_imgA mother is boycotting her local HSE dentist because the toilets are so dirty. The toilet was full of damp and moldThe woman said she cannot return to the dentist service at St.Conal’s in Letterkenny after a horrific experience with her two children. The woman said she found black mold, damp, dirt and paper peeling from the walls of the toilet on a recent visit. And she has vowed not to return unless the place is cleaned up.She revealed “When we went in I was horrified at the state of it (the toilet). I refused to allow my child to use it as it was so dirty and in such a state of repair.“My three year old walked and said ‘eew … its dirty mummy’. The black mold, damp walls with wallpaper peeling, rust all over and general dirtiness of this bathroom was shocking.“I have seen porta-pottys cleaner and in better condition. It is obvious the general lack of money, time or effort that is put into St. Conals. It is clear to see just walking down the halls but the toilets to be in such horrible condition is disgusting,” she said. Paper and paint was peeling off the walls. The woman, who asked not to be named, sent Donegal Daily a series of pictures she took of the condition of the toilets. And the woman added “Some effort into giving the bathrooms a good clean and scrub could go along way.“It is absolutely disgusting and I for one will be refusing to take my children to this hospital again.”As well as dental services, St Conal’s also offer services for children’s psychology, childrens’ eye clinics and childrens’ behavioural clinic.A spokesperson for HSE West viewed some of the pictures of the St.Conal’s toilets and explained that a significant structural works programme is underway at St.Conal’s. Rust and dirt was all over the toilet.“This is currently focusing on protecting the structure from damp etc.“When this work is competed we will be moving to improve the toilet facilities.“In the meantime the toilets are cleaned regularly and the HSE will review these schedules again in light of this individual complaint.“The HSE encourages members of the public to comment on our services,” said the spokesperson. She also referred the woman to the HSE website and invited her to make a comment or complaint on the matter.
