first_imgSeveral armed bandits robbed four employees attached to the Chinese logging company, Bai Shan Lin at Moblissa, Linden-Soesdyke Highway early Saturday morning, stripping them of a quantity of cash and valuables and shooting one to the hand.Chinese logging company, Bai Shan Lin’s operations in LindenReports are the gunmen pounced on the employees at about 02:00h at the company’s Moblissa location, which consists of several wooden camps.A 25-year-old labourer with the company told police that he was guarding the compound when he saw two men dressed in black, one sporting a hoodie and another armed with a knife. He reported that another man approached and he was brandishing a gun.According to the labourer’s report, one of the bandits then placed a knife to his neck, causing him to sustain injuries and robbed him of his cell phone valued $25,000 and $30,000.The bandits allegedly then inquired about the whereabouts of the “Chinese men” while three others joined in, holding the employee at gunpoint. He said that he was forced to take the bandits to one of the Chinese nationals who was at one of the camps sleeping.The bandits then hit another employee – a 50-year-old Chinese man – to his forehead, causing him to sustain injuries and robbed him of $50,000.The third victim, another 50-year-old Chinese man was also gun butted to his head which caused him to sustain injuries. Reports are the fourth victim, a 42-year-old serviceman of Silvertown, Wismar, Linden, was shot to his left hand after he saw the men with the gun and started to run.The employees were taken to the Linden Hospital Complex where they were treated for their injuries.Police in E Division (Linden-Kwakwani) have since launched an investigation into the incident.
